King Suheldev was a historic hero of medival north India. Author Amish Tripathi beautifully expresses his views on this great king who not only ruled just but defeated one of the cruelest armies which invaded our rich and prosperous land. The story of the book is a mix of historic records , fantasies and the author's own view. The story started and ended at the same holy place which saw the wrath of the turkish invaders and the warmth of its believers, the Somnath temple . There was no ruler in all north India who could defend themself from these barbarians. Indian monarchs of the time were too egoistic and idealistic when it came to war. This made it easier for Mahmud of Ghazni to annex these divided territories . Among the midst of the chaos rose a hero who strategised and deployed his Guerilla warfare tactics against those Turks. what made the story interesting for me was the ideologies and philosophies of Suheldev.
